DataDeck Release Notes → New UI (09-13-2018)

#1

Hi there,

You probably already noticed that our new and improved UI is live!

It’s a bit different than you were used to, and that’s because we are moving towards more of a collaborative environment where you can share and engage around data and this update is just the beginning. Lately, we have been on a roll when it comes to developments. New features, new data sources, a total overhaul, and our 2-weekly Newsbites to make sure you stay up-to-date.

What’s new?
As you can see in the pictures below, the left side now has 3 main sections. Let’s have a closer look at each one of them.

Total Dashboard Overview

Here you will be able to find all of your dashboards quick and easy. From the dashboards section, you will be able to go into any individual dashboard and create cards so you can easily visualize and analyze your data. In the previous version, all dashboards were squeezes in tight and users mentioned it was tough to see everything clearly. This new Dashboard homepage gives you a quick way to view and filter your dashboards because we will be adding a search function very soon.

A quick hack for you to see dashboards quickly would be to right click on multiple dashboards and open them into new tabs.

New Data Manager

This is where you will be able to find a birds eye view of all the data you have access to in your space. If you connect a data source, add a CSV file or if another team member grants you access to their data it will all be found here. This is your one stop shop for everything related to your data.

Our new Data Manager will soon be moved out of “beta”. Right now it’s available for new users. After the migration upcoming week it will be live for you as well.

Easier Team Management

"My Team" will give you an overview of your team. It will help you see which team members are currently in your space, what data sources and dashboards they have access to and you will be able to quickly add new team members to help you collaborate with data.

Coming up

  • Templates
  • Presentation feature

Yes, we know you have been waiting for the templates to come back, and they’re almost ready!
Another feature that will be launched in a few weeks, is the presentation feature. With this cool feature, you will be able to present your dashboard in full screen!

As you can see, our team has been working hard to improve the user experience and we have been focusing on making DataDeck easier to use while at the same time providing more value to our users.
You will continue to see changes over the next few months as we will continue to improve DataDeck. We will make sure to keep you updated by sending weekly release notes about fixes, improvements and new features.

What do you think, are you just as excited as we are?
Let us know, and we are looking forward to answering your questions!
Thanks so much for using DataDeck and we look forward to an exciting and collaborative future!

Have a data-driven-day,
Claudia from DataDeck
